The sun is out, and thoughts turn to outdoor living. If you want to bring some music with you, check out the Sunnylife Beach Sounds Speaker.
It has been around for a while, but new colours are now available. Even better, the speaker is on sale via the maker’s website just in time for summer. So, there are two reasons to talk about it.
It is ridiculously cute. Yes, it looks like something you might have seen in the 1960s or 1970s, and that’s pretty much the point of this. The look sells it from a retro viewpoint, but the functionality seals the deal.
Available in orange or light blue, this is designed as a beach radio. As such, it has sand and water resistance, which you would expect. But this lightweight device has a few things you might not expect.
First, it has new rather than old-school technology. The original was an actual radio, but this is now a wireless device that works with your smartphone or tablet. There is also an aux-in jack if you need it. Battery power is within, but you can also connect to your own power supply if you want to.
Outside of that, there are volume, bass and treble controls, a lovely little dual to the front, and a design to get people talking. Did I say it was cute? Of course, I did.
Usually, it sells for £60, but you can get one now directly from the maker for £40. I think there’s an introductory 10 per cent off offer, too, but check on the site to see if that’s still running.
