If he was alive, designer Poul Henningsen would be celebrating his 120th birthday this week. Reason enough for Louis Poulsen to reissue one of his finest designs, the PH 3½-3 pendant lamp.
The ceiling light's influence can still be seen on the high street and design stores today, but this light actually dates back to the late 1920s, with the current design of this light and its three-shade system based on original drawings from the period.
You can choose from green, yellow, red and white metal shades, with a fixture housing made of copper. Each one is pressed at Louis Poulsen's factory in Vejen, by Louis Poulsen's own staff, which is said to be a craft 'only very few' are trained in.
You do pay for expertise though, with the lights selling for £632.
