This was produced back in 2015, but the Randall midcentury-style sideboard at Swoon returns in slightly modified form.
The earlier design had colour block doors for the cupboard space, but the latest limited edition of this particular sideboard takes things back to basics, going all-wood for the finish.
Good or bad depends on your personal taste, but I think I prefer it without the white doors. It’s just a cleaner finish.
The design itself really hasn’t changed and if you want a sideboard that’s very much about the midcentury modern era and/or the 1950s and 1960s, this is definitely a design to check out.
Limited to just 22 units in this grey wash finish, the Randall is made of mango wood and has three drawers, each on traditional runners, plus two cupboards, which have an inner shelf.
As you can see, the sideboard is supported by those angled/tapered legs and with a length of 167cm, there is plenty of room on top for storage too. It’s a shame the retailer hasn’t dressed it more, as this would look impressive with the right ornaments on top, possibly even a vintage or retro record player too.
You’ll just have to use your imagination on that front. The Randall midcentury-style sideboard is available now and until this limited run sells through for £699. You also get £20 off your first order if you haven’t ordered off Swoon in the past and if you don’t want to pay out all at once, they also do monthly payments too.
