Not just a couple of items, the Mid-Century bedroom furniture range by West Elm takes care of the entire room.
It’s what you expect of West Elm, which isn’t the cheapest brand out there, but it is a retailer and maker than does this era very well, offering its own take on the era, but with plenty authenticity too. This is furniture that looks like it could be the real deal rather than modern-day reproductions.
This bedroom range is particularly strong one too, not least because it is so understated. This isn’t one of those OTT MCM ranges that tries a little too hard. This is stylish MCM made of a wood with a lovely colour and grain, along with antique-style hardware and bevelled front edges.
As for the range itself, that’s made up of two sizes of the double bed, a bedside table, three sizes of a chest of drawers and a chifforobe. The latter being a design you don’t see often.
Anything else you might need? Well, I suppose a dressing table theoretically. But if you look at the six-drawer chest, you can imagine that working if you have a mirror sat above it.
As I said, this isn’t the cheapest range around, but sometimes that’s not the best way to go. Better quality and construction will see you through a lot longer than going cheap and saving a bit of money in the short term.
Those prices are from £799 for the bed, the drawer chests are from £699, the bedside table sells from £239 and the chifforobe is the most expensive piece, selling for £1,039.
