It looks like the kind of thing we would should be referring to as a midcentury classic. But this Oliver Hrubiak for John Lewis Finn Lounge Chair is a fairly recent design.
The look is down to its midcentury inspiration, which is described specifically as ‘Scandinavian functionalism and British utilitarian design’. That equates to a chair with a powder-coated steel frame, solid ash arms and a veneered plywood backrest, finished with the seating an under-seat shelf for storing magazines or books.
A great looking, functional thing, it sells for £575.
