Sing along to the tune of the Self Preservation Society as you play the new Scalextric limited edition Italian Job set.
Yes, the cult classic starring Michael Caine and Noel Coward, not to mention several Italian gangsters and some Minis is now available as a Scalextric set, allowing you the opportunity of recreating the movie in your own living room.
Ok, not quite. You don’t get the scenery of Turin or the sets, not to mention miniatures of several 1960s hipsters. If only they’d include those. But you do get a track, some nifty Italian job packaging and of course, those vintage 1960s Mini cars in miniature.
The set is 1:32 scale and you can race over a bridge and along two crossover curves in an extended figure of eight. Yes, it’s essentially a Scalextric set with the added appeal of something 1960s and retro thrown in.
Note that you only get the red and blue Coopers (despite what the photo below shows) and the set is good for ages five and up. Although we are pretty sure most players will be way above that threshold.
Expect to pay something in the region of £95 for the set.

Of course, if you haven’t seen the Italian Job, you really should remedy that straight away. You can pick up the DVD pretty cheaply on Amazon right now. Just don’t make the mistake of getting the horrendous and rather pointless remake version.
