Hardly a week goes by without us highlighting a classic chair design, but still we are probably quite some way off having collected a thousand, which is, unsurprisingly, the number of chairs featured in the Taschen book “1000 Chairs”.
The book covers 200 years of design history and includes the work of around 400 designers, who between them have been responsible for those 1000 chairs. Each chair has a page devoted to it, with images and their history.
