Not all iPod sound systems are in black and white plastic – the wonderfully retro Thodio iBox is handcrafted in wood and chrome.
In fact, there’s a choice of wood – beech, oak, teak, zebrano or mahogany, with the top-end models finished with seven layers of scratch-proof gloss and UV protection. In terms of the mechanics, each iBox features a 2 x 25 Watt solid state amplifier, a pair of Focal Polyglass 100CV1 full range speakers, built-in rechargeable 15 hour battery pack and of course a rather neat housing for your iPod. No mention of a remote control though.
You can order online, with prices starting at 359 Euros for a painted MDF version, jumping up to 549 Euros for the deluxe finish.
