How do you fancy channelling your simmer prog rocker? If you do, you might want to start by picking up the Moog Model 15 Synthesiser for iOS.
Yes, another Moog app, following on from the wonderful Animoog app, which we’re still playing with a few years down the line.
This one looks even better. It’s a rebuild of the classic Model 15 modular synth from 1973, a $10,000 keyboard the size of…well, not quite a house, but something very large. This one fits on the screen of your iPad and costs considerably less.
But it’s still the real deal, offering everything the original did / does, with cables and switches aplenty to create weird and wonderful sounds, as well as the same modules – a bank of 921-series oscillators, low-pass and high-pass filters, the 907 fixed filter module, a ping-pong delay unit, a looping sound-on-sound recorder, and inputs for other instruments. Presets too, if it all sounds like hard work from the off.
Images here, as well as a brief demo video of the synth in action. If you like it, the price is £22.99. Go on, you can be living the Keith Emerson / Rick Wakeman dream all week.
