Yes, you can go down to your local toy store (or online) to buy any of these in modern incarnations, but they are certainly going to be no match for the Monopoly, Cluedo and Scrabble Nostalgia Edition board games by Esdevium Games.
It’s rather like buying a slice of history. Except of course, these are modern games, but made in the style of board games past. So with each, you get a wonderful wooden box, with each one based on the sets from a bygone era. The Cluedo, for example, comes with authentic detailing from the 1949 version of the game, the Scrabble has vintage-style tiles and the Monopoly has wooden houses and hotels, plus retro tokens.
When you get the board games out over Christmas, you’ll definitely cause a stir. Admittedly they do cost more than your average version, but at between £30 and £35, they are still in the realms of affordability.
