Presumably without intending to, Tom Dixon has the ability to create designs that will fit in both a contemporary room and a retro setting. Designs like this Tom Dixon Bell table lamp.
It's a modern piece, but you perhaps wouldn't be surprised if we flagged this up as a 1960s design. It has that Panton-esque feel about it. If that's not enough, the lamp is made of chrome-plated pressed steel, creating a mirrored / reflective effect, allowing it to take on the 'tone and characteristics' of its surroundings.
Not cheap at £420, but a future classic for sure.
