If space is an issue, the Bijou cocktail chair range at Heal's could be the answer.
The design of the diminutive chair is very much inspired by the middle of the 20th century, with that sloping back and angled legs, but the cloths for the upholstery are perhaps just as important here – all part of the Heal's 1810 range, the retailer's first fabric collection since the 1970s.
You can choose from the wonderful Peacock Flower by Malika Favre above or Trees by Cressida Bell, which is inspired by the inter-war years, plus the vintage-style Teatime by Diana Bloomfield.
All are priced the same at £720.
