We couldn’t resist mentioning this fully restored 1972 Fiat 500 Lusso Edition on eBay, not least because it is being sold via auction rather than a set price.
That’s a bonus really, especially if it means getting it at the right price. But the car is definitely the star.
The Lusso Edition has an extra chrome nudge bar at the front and two at the rear, a ‘more modernised and luxurious’ interior than older models, chrome trim on the windows, black steering wheel and an ‘almost square’ instrument panel and speedometer.
This one has had a full restoration at a specialist garage in Italy, resulting in a rebuilt engine, new gearbox, new brakes, new clutch, full bare metal respray in the original colour of Positano Yellow, new interior (upholstery, carpets, pleated door panels), new tyres, new wiring throughout, new top, new chrome trims, badges etc and a new vintage style chrome wing mirror.
According to the seller the car is ‘basically looking like a new car’ in ‘absolutely clean mint condition’.
More details and images on the listing if you need them. As for the price, the bidding is currently at £5,300.
