We have featured the smaller versions in the past, but the Ritchie corner sofa at Made pushes the Mad Men vibe one rather large step further.
In fact, there are super-small versions of this seating range for kids, but we are focusing on the other end of the spectrum, the corner sofa unit.
Of course, you need a room of the right size and the right proportions for this to work. Looking around our living room I’m not quite sure if would fit without blocking off part of a window. But if you have the space and if course, the need for all of that extra seating space, it will look a dream in a retro-style room.
The design is pure midcentury modern. The tapered legs, the button back details and the gentle curves. All boxes ticked on that front, with two colour options thrown in for good measure, those being a pearl grey and an anthracite grey if you want to go darker. Brighter shades are available in the standard sofas and armchairs, so I do wonder if this range will grow. Perhaps it depends on the performance of these two pieces.
If you want to take the leap and have an eye on a lazy day or night spent lounging on this large seat, check out the dimensions on the retailer’s site and check your bank account for £1,099. Yes, that’s the selling price. If you want something cheaper, there are sofa, armchair and new end corner units too.
