New York-based artist Bean Land gives musicians and bands a cartoon-style makeover in their amusing range of music posters.
The cartoon style is simple, but Bean Land manages to capture the distinct characteristics of each subject. My favourite is the Ian Brown poster as shown above, with The Stones Roses singer wearing that bank notes t-shirt he wore in 1989 with the artwork for their first album referenced in the giant slices of lemon floating behind him.
Other designs include David Bowie in Ziggy Stardust mode, Mick and Keef, The Beatles in their early matching suits incarnation, The Fall, Joy Division and Morrissey and Marr (below). The posters are A3 size and cost just over £6. International shipping is available, bringing the total cost to around a tenner.
