Hot on the heels of my top 10 midcentury modern audio systems round-up comes the retro Music System Home by Tivoli Audio.
One that didn’t quite make the listing as this is a brand new design, one that only ships this month. Yes, that new.
Tivoli promises ‘midcentury modern streamlined style’ with this one and I’m not going to argue with that. The Music System Home would fit effortlessly into a retro or midcentury space, both because of its looks and because of its compact nature.
The wood casing and angled legs are definitely a selling point, but you don’t have to go wood. This one looks just as good in the black and white finishes too. Regardless of the colour, this plater fits an awful lot into a compact package.
Audio goes without question. Tivoli makes quality pieces and this player has a four driver configuration, which promises a full-range stereo experience, an immersive sound and a deep, rich bass.
Plenty of audio options too. A CD player, AM/FM tuner, DAB and DAB+. It also has Bluetooth connectivity as well as Wi-Fi connectivity, the latter meaning that it will play the likes of Spotify, Deezer and Tidal, as well as music from your own personal library via your standard home network.
If that’s not enough, the player has Amazon Alexa built into it and has access to an app, which allows you to adjust controls and access all of those services. Just site back, grab your phone and play the music.
So good looks and plenty of impressive functionality too. As I said, it has only just hit the shelves, so you might have to hunt around to get one ahead of the festive season. But you can get it from Audiovisual Online for £699. Alternatively, keep an eye on Amazon, which tends to stock all of the Tivoli range.
