Part of the 100 years celebration of the iconic design house, the Bau range of Bauhaus-inspired Swatch watches are now on the shelves.
There are 25 different watches to choose from, so hopefully something for everyone. Well, as long as you like a watch with a nod to early 20th century German modernism.
In fact, even if you don’t, you might still like these as Swatch has taken a rather liberal interpretation of the term Bauhaus, essentially taking the style and the colours in varying degrees and adding a more modern Swatch twist into the mix.
The thing is, it’s always hard to get away from the 1980s when it comes to Swatch. They all just have that look/style from 1983, when the company was introduced to the world by Nicolas Hayek.
So there’s a touch of that, plenty of colour and some subtle nods to Bauhaus along the way.
Personally I like them – and certain designs in particular. My favourite is the one at the top of the page, the Sistem Bau. It has has a black dial enhanced with 3D print and striking coloured hands. Flip it over to see the movement at work and enjoy the contrast of the white strap too. One of the more expensive though at £110.
Working down the page, you can also pick up the likes of the Elementary if you want a more basic version of something similar. That retails for £54.
Also featured here is the Black-One and its chronograph functions at £86, the more decorative Bau-Bbles watch at £47 and the colourful D-Form (with equally bold strap), also at £47.
