If this light looks familiar, that's because it has more than a passing resemblance to a modernist classic, specifically this Kaiser Idell table lamp by Christian Dell for Fritz Hansen. Obviously the Bronte Task Lamp at BHS weighs in a lot cheaper.
That original 1930s design will set you back the best part of £600, but this one, which has the same look, is a fraction of that price. But it still offers a shiny steel construction, a lovely curved stem, rounded shade and the vintage-style switch on the base.
It stands at 42cm tall and sells for just £40. Colour variations are also available.
