I spotted one design and more followed. Enough to want to flag up these indie, alternative and classic rock cushions by Rat Rock.
They are classic designs and logos by Rat Rock that cover a spectrum of what I would largely call alternative rock. But that takes indie, 1960s beat and psychedelia plus logos associated with any of those scenes. If you see the cushions then you’ll get the idea.
All are made via Redbubble, which reproduces the designs across a variety of products. So if cushions aren’t your thing, you can always opt for the designs on everything from posters and notebooks through to mugs, bath mats and shower curtains.
But I think they look great as cushions, not least because you will never find this kind of thing on the high street. It’s a talking point as well as a piece of interior design.
Note also that you can get two sizes of cushion design. One for your sofa and a larger floor cushion. But these are covers, so you will need to sort out the inside filling yourself. That’s probably not too expensive, more a case of finding the right size and ordering one in.
As for the designs, it’s hards to know where to start. There are around 100 different designs and logos here, all of which are available to order. So do have a look at the full range for your own favourites.
But I have picked out a few of my own just to give you a taste of what it’s all about.
At the top of the page, you will see a 2 Tone design featuring The Specials, which is a bonafide classic. It’s also one of the standard cushions, available in various sizes and from £17.27. Although you can get them cheaper if you buy more than one.
Working down the page, there’s also The Smiths’ The Queen Is Dead, as well as the Kraftwerk Autobahn design, Forever Changes by Love and that classic Northside logo.
But there are also large floor cushions too. That includes the wonderful Sarah Records cushion, the Small Faces, The Byrds and many more. The larger ones sell for £47.39, bit again, cheaper if you buy more than one.
You can see them all at the Redbubble site for Rat Rock and if you want them for Christmas, you have a couple of days left to order.
