Looking for a retro slant for your knits? Check out the new David Bowie knitwear collection by Hades.
I know; I have featured these before. Except, I haven’t. That’s because the Bowie range, which was launched back in 2021, has had a bit of a makeover. Yes, same theme. But different designs and colours for 2024.
If the name rings a bell, it might be because of that past range. Or you might recall similar ranges based around Blondie and The Cure, some of which are still available to buy.
The principle across the range is much the same. Each of these knitwear designs is produced under license and handcrafted in Scotland, specifically in a family-run mill in Hawick, Scotland. Each one is also made of 100 per cent lambswool. This is a quality product made to last.
The quality is obviously a pull when it comes to knitwear. Like all the best knitwear, you get what you pay for. But ultimately, your desire to own something from this collection is a love of David Bowie’s work and design.
After all, if you are a fan, you might like the idea of a classic logo emblazoned on your chest. Although it also works as general retro/stylish knitwear. You don’t have to be an obsessive fan.
The past range crosses over a little with the present, but these are mainly new designs and being handmade, they are primarily pre-orders, too. So buy now and get an unexpected treat in the post in a couple of months. A treat of a Bowie design featuring the logo of Let’s Dance, Hunky Dory, Rebel Rebel, and The Man Who Sold The World in different colour options and in sizing for both men and women.
As I said, this is premium knitwear, and it doesn’t come cheap. £230 if you want any of the current designs.
