Another ‘suitcase’ turntable, but the Mixx Revival 65 record player offers something a little different from the usual suspects.
But the look is very familiar at first glance—a portable player of the kind that’s very popular these days. Just have a look around; there are loads of them. And you have to do something just a little different to stand out.
In this case, it’s design and quality. Oh, and Bluetooth, too, which means you can stream from your phone or other gadget to the speakers built into this one or stream your vinyl elsewhere.
As for the design…well, you can tell what the standout feature is there. The cut-out lid, which means you can view your vinyl with the lid down, should you want to. Personally, I like it.
And then there’s the quality, which seems a step up from many of these portable turntables. The sound is described as ‘nicely balanced’. There’s a unique full-size turntable with a belt-driven mechanism and a high-quality Audio-Technica cartridge, specifically the Audio-Technica AT3600L moving magnet cartridge.
It’s a lovely thing, but it does cost a touch more than the competition. Choose from three colours, each selling for £199.
