There are umpteen retro design books out there, but I can always find space on my coffeetable or bookcase for another. Retro Home by Katherine Sorrell looks like it will make a good addition to my collection.
The first section of the book covers Essentials, including what is retro, choosing a style, repro versus the real deal and caring for retro furniture. The second part looks at different retro styles including midcentury modern, Scandi sleek and kitsch. It finishes with real life case studies and a directory of sources for buying retro. Now it may be that many of our regular readers know a good deal of this stuff already, but the book is chock full of gorgeous photos that provide plenty of inspiration even for the old-hand at retro decorating.
Retro Home is available from Amazon for just under £16.
