The title The Tale of Tomorrow: Utopian Architecture in the Modernist Realm may be a bit of a mouthful but – looking at the futuristic buildings of the 1960s and 70s this new book is very cool indeed.
The book looks at architecture at its most radical in this period, and the idealist dreams and ambitions that inspired them. Edited by Robert Klanten and Sofia Borges, its 400 pages both look at renowned works such as The House of the Century or the TWA terminal, as well as major names such as Oscar Niemeyer, Le Corbusier and Eero Saarinen.
They've done some digging in this archives to put this tome together, and it includes rediscovered photos and archival material, as well as interviews that will help you think in new ways about these amazing retro-futuristic buildings.
