If you have a good memory, you might recall that the James Bond novels were reissued by Penguin in hardback in 2008, with specially-commissioned covers by San Francisco-based illustrator Michael Gillette. Fast forward to 2011 and those James Bond prints have finally been reissued as artworks in their own right.
Very cool they are too, as well as being incredibly colourful, distinctive and with a good dose of 1960s-style inspiration. All are limited editions, signed and numbered by the artist and printed on acid-free 100% cotton rag paper with archival inks. They are all licensed by and produced in conjunction with the Fleming estate, produced to coincide with the centenary of the author's birth.
Two sizes are available, the smaller prints retail at $95 plus shipping and handling, which are signed and numbered in an edition of 700. The larger-sized prints retail at $225 plus shipping. Those are signed and numbered in an edition of 400.
More details on the Electric Works website, which is sole seller. They are also selling a complete set in both sizes, should you be a completist.
