Rex Johnson isn't a name that's necessarily household, but as part of the Ronald Ward & Partners practice, he was responsible for buildings like the Millbank Tower in London. This is one of his rare excursions into residential, with this four bedroomed house in Crouch. near Sevenoaks, Kent built for himself.
It dates from 1969 and was featured in interiors magazines at the time and for years later – Ideal Home focused on it in 1975 as an exceptional house of its type. Now, all these years later, it’s more of a period piece, with unique features from the original build including bespoke doors, shelving and a geodesic domed greenhouse for example.
