Just over 50 years on, the Puma Roma 68 OG trainers are back on the shelves in their original form.
A 50th-anniversary edition no less, although just a little late to the party in 2019. Not that I’m complaining. I’m just glad that they are here.
The Puma Roma, as the title suggests, dates back to 1968, created to honour the national Italian football team for winning the European Cup in that year. Many variants of the shoe have followed since and if you go directly to Puma, you can see a few of those for sale right now. But the Puma Roma 68 OG is the original and still the best.
The colour chosen for this reissue is described as ‘whisper white and blue yonder’, which looks to me to be an off-white for the leather upper and a light blue for the formstrip and the detail on the sole.
The formstrip is made of suede, with the shoe also featuring an archival tongue patch, EVA midsole, a gum rubber outsole and the Roma branding to the side.
All the major sizes available, with the price for a pair at £79.
