Stefi Orazi Southbank Centre Christmas Cards

Royal festival hall

If you're a fan of the architecture of London's south bank, there's only one set of Christmas cards you should be sending this year: Stefi Orazi's Southbank Centre Christmas cards.

Produced exclusively for their shop, they are very much in the style of her Modernist Christmas cards, stylishly depicting a distinctive mid-century building and then adding snow. Each pack contains four cards – two showing the Royal Festival Hall (which opened in 1951) and two showing the Hayward Gallery (which opened in 1968).

A pack of four cards costs £6.40

For sale: Michael Sassoon-designed 1960s midcentury-style house in Cheadle, Cheshire

Cheadle1

It might not look like much from the outside, but we love the inside of this Michael Sassoon-designed midcentury-style house in Cheadle, Cheshire. Mainly because it's hardly been touched since the day it was built.

We presume that's in the 1960s, it's not entirely clear. But we do know that this three-bedroom house was designed by renowned residential architect Michael Sassoon, one of a number he designed around the area. However, most have been severely updated and look little like an original these days. That's not the case here.

Josef Frank world map cushion

Josef frank mapHere's something a little unusual for your home. A cushion featuring a world map designed by Josef Frank

Frank was one of the founders of the Vienna School of Architecture before emigrating to Sweden in 1933 where he became one of the most prestigious designers in the company Svenskt Tenn. It's Svenskt Tenn who have produced this cushion, based on one of his design from 1939. With no borders between the countries, it's a reaction to the political situation at the time and the fact Frank had fled Nazism in Austria. Using simple black and white, the design is a striking statement.

The cushion is handprinted and costs 890 SEK, which works out to be roughly £80.

Many1

We do tend to feature a lot of houses with restrictively-high prices on here and while we're not claiming this Edward Schoolheifer-designed three-storey house in Manygate Lane, Shepperton, Surrey is cheap, it might well be a house that's affordable to some of you.
