For sale: 1960s-designed house in Jacksons Lane, London N6

Jacksons1

If any house can scream the 1960s, it's this three-bedroom design in Jacksons Lane, London N6.

This particular property is an end terrace on the Southwood House Estate, a triangle of residences built on the site of the former Southwood House, the work of architects Andrews, Emerson, Sherlock & Keable in the early part of that decade, 'Andrews' himself actually living in it – no doubt sold on the large communal space offered between the rows of houses, all of which is for sole use of the residents.

Trellick Tower Bookend

Trellick bookend

Following on from yesterday's BT Tower cross stitch kits, here's another architecturally inspired product in the shape of the Trellick Tower Bookend, designed by Susan Bradley. Erno Goldfinger's Brutalist Trellick Tower divides popular opinion but has become a distinctive London landmark and has been immortalised many times, including in the popular range of products from People Will Always Need Plates.

These bookends reduce the building to its instantly recognisable outline and is made from powder coated steel in the two colours shown here. Bookends are also available in the shape of Norman Foster's 'Gherkin' and the ubiquitous Battersea Power Station. These cost £18.

BT Tower Cross Stitch kit by Make Industries

BT Tower

Cross stitch and mid-sixties architecture seem a slightly unlikely combination but that's what you get with this BT Tower Cross stitch kit from Make Industries. The BT Tower (formerly the Post Office Tower) was built in 1964 and, to craft your very own version, the kit includes a pattern, thread and full instructions.

The woman behind Make Industries, Tina Fox, is a former architect and they also have kits available of a couple more iconic London buildings in the shape of Battersea Power Station and the Lloyds Building. Each kit costs £22.50.
