Rent an apartment in Erno Goldfinger’s iconic Trellick Tower in London

Trellick1

It's the building you either love or hate, but there's no denying that Trellick Tower is an iconic piece of 20th century design. Want to live there? Well, an apartment has just come up for rent in the Erno Goldfinger-designed west London tower block.

Goldfinger designed the block in the late 60s and despite a large amount of contempt for it, Trellick Tower is grade II listed, so isn't going anywhere in a hurry. Admittedly, we've never been in the place, but we suspect the views from this 15th-floor flat are really going to be something special.

Fritz Hansen 60s-style Space lounge chair by Jehs + Laub

Space

A modern design, but the perfect seat for any wannabe James Bond villain – the Fritz Hansen Space lounge chair by Jehs + Laub.

Vert 1960s in look, this easy chair is 'designed from the idea of the comfortable feeling of sitting in a hand' would you believe. Not sure what sitting in a hand feels like, but we can only assume it's fairly pleasant. In terms of specifics, it offers a lacquered shell, leather upholstery in a choice of three colours and a base of lacquered steel matching your colour choice.

Prices start at just over £1,800.

Post war-style Canteen Utility Chairs by Very Good and Proper

Utility

A modern design that's inspired by the past – that's the Canteen Utility Chairs by Very Good and Proper.

Specifically, the chairs are inspired what's described as the 'ubiquitous post war school chair', those 50s-style looks produced from a mix of a coloured steel frame and beech plywood seating.

Perfect for emergency chairs, not least because of their ability to stack up out of the way, they sell for £217 each.

Onetruesaxon

If you happen to be into your vintage cycling gear, you might just like this One True Saxon cycling polo shirt, which is new on the shelves.

Very much in the style of the much-loved vintage-style Rapha tops (but considerably cheaper), the OTS shirt is designed for everyday, rather than sports use, offering up a knitted 100 per cent cotton top with button-down breast pocket, four-button collar and contrast stripe.

Three colours are available, priced at £70. OTS has told us these are part of their new spring range, so should be widely available and available on the OTS website from 1st February 2010.
