Arne Jacobsen 1970s Lily armchair for Fritz Hansen

Lily

It might not be everyone's idea of an easy chair, but by all accounts, the Fritz Hansen Lily armchair is a comfortable place to kick back.

Why? Well, this 1970s Arne Jacobsen design uses what's described as 'an extremely complicated moulded process' for the right curves for comfort. So even if it made of a laminated stained veneer, it's still going to be supporting all the right places.

But if it's still a little hard for you, you can always opt for the leather upholstered version. Finished off with those chrome legs, you can pick up the Lily armchair from around £1,089.

Jane Foster Scandinavian-style Spring Chicken designs

Flower1

A simple, but eye-catching design range from Jane FosterSpring Chicken.

These retro-styled pieces are inspired by midcentury Scandinavian designs, offered as a screenprint (pictured over the page), a 'Spring' cushion (above) or a tote bag that should turn heads in the local supermarket.

Not expensive either, with the bag selling for £8, the art for £35 and the cushion for £20.

Leather Satchel by Fred Perry

Fp_satchel

Just unveiled as part of the new spring range at Fred Perry is this very stylish Leather Satchel.

Yes, based on the classic satchel that you may or may not have used for school, it throws in a few subtle differences, boosting the size and offering up a quality leather finish, as well as adding in buckle fastening, two storage compartments, a metal Laurel badge and an adjustable/removable shoulder strap.

Sadly, it doesn't come cheap – the Leather Satchel comes in at £175.

Lego CD Stereo Boombox and Radio Alarm Clock unveiled

Lego_boom1

We're not easily impressed, but we've certainly had our heads turned by the launch of the Lego CD Stereo Boombox and the Lego Radio Alarm Clock. You can probably see why.

Pictured above is the bright blue CD Stereo Boombox, shaped like a large brick and offering up CD and MP3 playback, along with FM and AM radio. Sadly no DAB or net radio, but you can't have everything.

Pictured over the page is the smaller Radio Alarm Clock, offering up what you expect – a radio to get you out of bed and a digital clock to tell you the time. Oh yes – a snooze function too by hitting the Lego bump on top. No news on price as yet, but not long to wait – these should both be on the market in a matter of weeks and we suspect, without breaking the bank.
