Pentax Optio H90 digital camera offers Dieter Rams-like styling

H90_3

Yesterday, we featured the 1960s-styling of the Pentax Optio I-10 camera. In the comments related to that camera, another new launch was pointed out – the Pentax Optio H90 digital camera.

It's not quite as obviously retro as the I-10, but it does look like it could have come straight out of the Dieter Rams design catalogue – the kind of stylish but functional design the great man was known for. Retailer Size has once again bagged an exclusive on a classic trainer – the Adidas Samba, which it has in this very stylish white leather finish.

Originally a football shoe back in 1962 before becoming the casual and terrace classic from the 70s onwards, the Samba has a timeless profile that's boosted here with that mix of white leather and white mesh for the upper, constrasted with an airforce blue for the sole and branding.

Very smart and certain to be limited in numbers, it retails for £54.99.

Arne Jacobsen 1950s 3300 easy chair for Fritz Hansen

Jacobsen

Another gem of a design from Arne Jacobsen for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen – the Fritz Hansen 3300 easy chair.

Dating back to 1956 and still deserving of the label 'timeless', the 3300 easy chair offers up that slimline chromed base, supporting seating that's both formal and above all, comfortable. Leather finish naturally – although you can get it with a fabric cover if you prefer.

That fabroc option is certainly the cheaper, with prices starting at £2,402, rising to a minimum of £3,427 for the leather.

Pentax goes retro with the newly-launched Optio I-10 digital camera

Pentax_i10

If you like the look of the Olympus E-P1, but didn't much care for the price, here's another stylish retro camera to consider – the Pentax Optio I-10.

Sadly it's not pushing the same technological boundaries as the Olympus effort, but it is stil a very good digital compact camera, offering up a 12-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom, auto focus and exposure and face recognition, the latter able to accurately detect up to 32 faces in a single shot. Oh yes and for animal lovers, it can even capture up to two or three dog and cat faces too.

Throw in HD (720p) video recording and that two-tone 60s style and you've got a very tasty piece of kit, which will be available from next month for £199.99.
