Fred Perry starts its mid-season sale online

Perry_bag

It only seems like yesterday since the new range was launched, but already, Fred Perry has kicked off its mid-season sale.

I'll leave you to browse the clothing, men's and women's gear is all marked down to greater or lesser degree, but we're flagging up this rather cool and timeless Inflight Overnight Bag.

A classic bag with vintage Fred Perry branding, it also has a large storage area, inside pocket and an adjustable/removable shoulder strap. It was £65, but is now a more reasonable £45.50. This and everything else online or at a Fred Perry store.

Leopard Bayswater Bag by Mulberry

Mulberrybayswater

Leopard print has by now reached near saturation as a retro print choice, but thanks to its lasting appeal across many decades it's going nowhere. While some leopard print items may end up looking more Bet Lynch than Bettie Page (no bad thing, in our opinion), there are plenty which retain that higher end classic look.

This Leopard version of the Bayswater Bag by Mulberry has an undeniable air of luxury about it, with use of a calf hair fabric and sparing gold-look hardware. Making it easier to wear leopard print with everything, the bag is oversized enough to make a big impression, without looking overworn like many dresses and coats can.

It's available in the UK from My Wardrobe, at Mulberry's usual high cost – this time £1650.

Aurore Leather Holdall by Chloé

Aurore

With designer bags often pushing towards very modern design, there's little in the way of simple and classic luggage available from many high end brands. Once in a while a gem crops up, though, like this Aurore Leather Bag from Chloé.

With a design that's uncomplicated by too many zips and details, the bowling shape has a great mid-sixties feel. The real tan leather provides a lasting look and sturdy shape, while short top handles and gold hardware keep it classic too. Just masculine enough for a mod look, this is a rare piece with luxury craftsmanship.

Get it now from Net-a-Porter for £1075.

Reworked Vintage Accessories by Shara Porter

Sharaporter

With vintage shopping it can be a challenge to find good quality and great looks in one place, without endless hours of trawling through rails. If you're into vintage craftsmanship with a quirky twist, the hand reworked accessories from Shara Porter might just be the answer.

With the tagline 'Hand Printed Fine Found Objects', the mission statement is self explanatory. Porter has an eye for a great bag, and adds her own twist in a subtle and retro-flavoured fashion too. Each bag is a one off, allowing for much of the appeal of vintage to stay intact, while the added prints can often spruce up accessories that were once nothing more than ordinary.

1970s Shell Sport holdalls back on the market

Shell1

If you want to carry a piece of the 1970s around with you, may we suggest these reissued Shell Sport holdalls?

Originally produced by the company throughout the 1970s, the bags are available in various colours (one pictured above, another over the page), made of PVC, with an inside zip pocket and a 'heavy' metal zip for closure.

The price has probably gone up from the 70s, but it's still affordable at £42.
