The classic purse frame handbag doesn't look to be going anywhere soon, and while it's been constantly reinvented it most often has some visible vintage inspiration.
This Mac C Twist Frame Bag leans on a retro feel to create a chic little handbag in faux leather. The mink version in particular has an air of pre-war chic, with the gathered fabric creating interest in a basic bag.

The Ellan Doran Loves 38 Bag is part of the designer’s collection for the London Transport Museum that pays tribute to everyone’s favourite bus, the Routemaster.
The design is a close up of the logo which adorned the 38 route, a route known as the “Love Bus”. Measuring 38cm x 40cm, the shopper is made from 100% unbleached cotton.

Clutch style bags have been reinvented throughout most mainstream fashion movements of the twentieth century, but this version from ASOS has a definite eighties feel.
As the 1980s was something of a magpie decade, it takes its beginnings from a high glam fifties look, with Hollywood sparkle and simplistic lines. It has some added eighties touches thanks to a slouched shape and the post-seventies colour palette.

There's something timeless about Adidas accessories, especially something like the Adidas classic Airliner bag.

It's a vintage-style holdall in white, mixing both Adidas and Vespa logo detailing (one side for Adidas, one for Vespa), along with handles, detachable shoulder strap, nubs on the bottom to keep it from damage and of course, a large compartment for all your essentials for the weekend, work…whatever.

Lulu Guinness has a great eye for accessories and always applies just the right amount of kitsch. This Pollyana Shoulder Bag has a fifties pin-up vibe as its inspiration, but remains subtle and versatile enough to wear with everything.
