Acme Made Bowler – bowling-style bag for your camera

Acme_bowling

Ok, we're talking a pretty niche market here, but we really love the Acme Made Bowler.

It's essentially a bag for your camera – a serious (and substantial) digital SLR camera specifically, with padding to keep it secure and small pockets for your extras (like storage cards for example). And while that makes it a practical item for photographers, it's the look of a vintage bowling bag that we're sold on. In fact, even if you didn't have a camera, this glossy red bag would be cool for carrying around your essentials.

We have scoured round for a retailer, but as yet, we can't find one. It might be worth checking with the Acme Made sellers (listed on the site) to see when they're getting stock. Price quoted is $39.99, which is a ridiculously cheap £27.

Silly Thing vintage camera tote bag

Sillybag

Slightly more high-end than a lot of the totes we show you, the Silly Thing vintage camera tote bag is certainly a stylish way to carry your kit.

New for spring/summer 2009, the bag (as you can see) offers up a design featuring an old school camera both front and bag, with some large text added to the front and the 'think silly' line on the back.

Finished off with a pair of sturdy black handles, you can pick up this hefty bag for just over £109 from Colette.

Schuh eco-friendly Cassette bag

Schuh

Some time back, we featured a reusable bag from Schuh with an Adidas trainer design. It must have been successful as the company has launched another retro-styled design – the Schuh eco-friendly Cassette bag.

Designed to cut down on your plastic bag usage, the new Cassette design features (as you can guess) a large image of a cassette, sturdy construction and some lengthy handles so you can carry on your shoulder.

And it's cheap – just £1.99. Although you might have to hunt around for it, Schuh has informed us that the bag is not going to be sold online, but is being sold at 29 of the company's 54 stores.

Adidas 80s-style sports holdall

Adidas_80s

Adidas
says that its Vintage Sports Holdall is straight out of the archives- and we're safely assuming that archive was sometime in the early 80s.

It's still a solid and distinctive bag almost 30 years on, with all the original Adidas logos on both the body and zips, some suede detailing, a detachable shoulder strap and enough capacity for a weekend away.

You can pick one up online, priced at £59.

Nike Vintage ’76 weekend bag

Nike_76

We featured a version of this in black some time back, but as the Nike Vintage ’76 weekend bag has now been reissued in a rather eye-catching black and blue, we thought we should highlight it once more.

Perfect for a weekend away or a trip to the gym, the bag features a 70s-style design, as well as a premium leather finish, a reinforced handle and a zipped and lockable main compartment.

Yours for £65.

Lanvin Toute L’Année tote bag

Untitled

Tote bags have become a unisex essential this past year or more, and there’s a million and one ways to ethically trawl your shopping around. Designer options might be best for something other than milk and bread, especially when they’re as attractive as this one by Lanvin.

The Toute L’Année tote features a kitsch-y design in bright colours from their 2009 Summer collection. Printed on cotton with a shiny finish, it’s durable and washable too. The sturdier handle design is a blessing that’ll ensure longer life from this designer bag.

Get it from Matches Fashion for £358.
