Allotment Shop retro Jute Shopping Bag

Allotment
We all seem to be growing our own fruit and vegetables these days. If you don’t believe me, give you local council a call and ask about the waiting list for an allotment – you’ll be talking years rather than months. But that’s good news for retailers of gardening goods – like the Allotment Shop.

The Allotment Shop specialises in retro/vintage gardening gear – everything from tools to garden accessories and bird feeders. And they also have this rather cool Allotment Shop Jute Shopping Bag.

Handmade in the UK, it features a ‘cheeky’ vintage image and slogan, gingham heart detail, long handles and a large capacity for carrying your shopping. Cheap too – just £3.

Chupa Chups launches 50th anniversary collection of retro bags

Chup1

Here’s two things you might not know – firstly, Spanish lollipop maker Chupa Chups is celebrating its 50th anniversary and secondly, its famous daisy logo was the work of Salvador Dali. And to celebrate the former, Chupa Chups is launching a 50th anniversary collection of retro bags, featuring the original logo created by the latter.

The range consists of a shoulder bag (above), utility bag, handheld bowling bag and purse (see over the page for images of the rest of the bags). All are inspired by the 1970s and are available in the original four colours of the lollipops.

They launch on July 1st, with prices ranging from £15 to £30.

Dunlop retro Gym Bag

Dunlop

Well, Wimbledon is almost upon us – and if this was the mid 1970s, your average tennis pro would be walking out on court with something like this Dunlop Gym Bag.

These days, that Green Flash design is less about tennis and more of an all-rounder – for the gym or just for a weekend away. It has a large central storage area, lower pocket, contrasting pipe trim and double handles.

Not that expensive either – £30.

Dior Homme Coated Canvas messenger bag

Dior_messenger

If the vintage Olympics bags we featured yesterday weren’t high-end enough for you, the Dior Homme Coated Canvas messenger bag could fit the bill.

Similar to the Dior Homme bowling bag we covered some time back, it’s a classic messenger bag, with its retro-styled looks enhanced by a simple black finish – although the label tags will tell everyone you’ve paid through the nose for it.

The bag also has a natural trim, zip pocket, dogtooth lining and an adjustable shoulder strap. As you’ve probably guessed, not cheap at £605.
