Pan Am limited edition 1950s Hawaiian vanity cases

Discoo has bagged a UK exclusive on the 80th anniversary Pan Am collection of bags, including some very limited edition pieces – like the Pan Am 1950s Hawaiian vanity cases.

These are exact replicas of the original cases given to Pan Am’s first class passengers in the 1950s, featuring artwork by US artist Norman Rockwell. As you can see, they are made from a cream leather with bold red and orange interior, with some super-cool detailing, not least those Pan Am fasteners.

Quantities are so limited, Discoo is only offering these as pre-order. So if you want one, get your name down via the website. They retail for £125.

As well as having a huge number of vintage inspired print bags, Monsoon’s sister shop’s coin purses and wallets seem to all draw heavily on a vintage influence. Be it forties or right up to the seventies there’s something for any occassion.

As soon as I saw these purses and the matching shoulder bag I fell in love. The print is great, spot on retro style and the idea of matching the accessories is a great one.

Jumpseat bags are handmade from authentic vintage aircraft seat cover fabric, lined with military jacket flight satin. They’re even detailed with seat belt straps and buckle connectors. Not that you can obviously tell – they look every bit the modern-day accessory.

Hanna Melin Play A Song For Me tote bag

Hanna Melin apparently collects things. Not only that, she draws the things she collects – and that includes old cassettes, featured here on the Hanna Melin Play A Song For Me tote bag.

This 100 per cent organic cotton tote bag features blue pencil drawings of old mix tapes, all of which have some kind of sentimental value to the artist – even of they don’t get played anymore.
