People Will Always Need Plates offers exclusive De La Warr Pavilion merchandise

Dela

Retro To Go favourite People Will Always Need Plates has a range of merchandise available featuring the iconic De La Warr Pavilion – only available from the Pavilion itself.

If you didn’t know, the De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill On Sea was commissioned by the Earl De La Warr in 1935 and designed by architects Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff – the UK‘s first public building built in the Modernist style. It’s recently undergone renovation, returning the building to its former glory. And the merchandise on offer celebrates this event.

The tea towel (retailing for £7.95) is pictured above, but there’s also a limited edition plate (£25), mugs in a choice of colours (£9.99 each), a canvas tote bag (£14.50) and at the bottom of the price scale, badges at £1 each. You can buy them from the Pavilion or you can contact the Pavilion’s shop for mail order.

Puma Originals Grip bag

Puma_originals
The sales are coming to an end, but there’s still a few bargains to be had – especially online. And one of them is this Puma Originals Grip bag.

Puma raided the archives heavily in 2007, with this Grip bag offered in various colours. It’s an old-school holdall – indeed it’s like the ones many of us took to school before the curse of the ruck sack took over. There’s a two-way zip opening, main compartment, side storage, metal studs and the Puma vintage logo.

And right now it’s marked down at the Puma store in a choice of colours to £30.

Art Disco NES tote bag

Nes_tote
Art Disco obviously loves the Nintendo NES – they have a range of items revolving around the retro console, including this rather eye-catching NES tote bag.

The image says it all really – a canvas tote bag in black with a blue (and small amount of red) design, featuring the controllers and leads.

And the best part of all is the price – it’s currently sitting in the sale section, priced at just £5.

Anya Hindmarch Concorde washbags

Anya_bag

Apparently, if you fly first class with British Airways, you get one of these Anya Hindmarch Concorde washbags for free. But for us mere mortals, you can also buy them online from BA.

Created exclusively for BA by Anya Hindmarch, each of the bags features a vintage image of Concorde and is made of nylon and canvas, with a full lining and chrome zip.

And best of all, both are now massively discounted. The small washbag was selling for £55, but is now down to £19.80, with the larger bag previously at £65, now also selling for £19.80.

Freddy & Ma US Election retro-style tote bags

Freddy
The more shrewd of you will have noticed that we’re based in the UK, so don’t get to vote in the US elections. But that doesn’t stop us appreciating these rather cool Freddy & Ma US Election retro-style tote bags.

The idea is to ditch the car sticker and carry something useful, stylish and eco-friendly. The psychedelic lettering and imagery is certainly a strong selling point, as well as the fact that these are made of organic cotton (free of toxic chemicals) and can cut down our plastic bag consumption.

Plenty of candidates and political persuasions to choose from, all retailing for a very affordable $25 (around £13).

Jonathan Adler retro Butterfly/Snail tote bag

Adler_tote

It might not be the cheapest tote bag on the market, but the Jonathan Adler retro Butterfly/Snail tote bag is certainly one of the most stylish.

Available in the yellow/navy colour scheme (as above) or in a navy blue/pink, the bag features a snail design on one side, with a butterfly on the other, with the bag itself made of hand-loomed wool.

And you can only buy it online, retailing at the Jonathan Adler site for $125, which is just over £60.
