Marc Jacobs for Pan Am retro travel bag

Marc_panam

An old bag made more fashionable? Or a classic bag ruined? Well, I’m guessing opinion is split on this Marc Jacobs for Pan Am retro travel bag.

On the one side, it looks like a classic Pan Am weekend-style bag, with that typical white on blue colour scheme, as well as a double zip and hand strap. But that Marc Jacobs signature? That’s going to have you reaching for your wallet or running a mile!

Only available in limited quantities, you can pick it up for $149 (around £75).

Fuzzy Nation’s Poochie Bags

Dogbags

If you can’t face leaving the house without your beloved pet, how about going for a useful substitute – a Poochie Bag from Fuzzy Nation.

Yes, as the name suggests, these are dog-shaped bags, with different breeds on offer, including the pug and the dachshund featured here. And there’s a choice of cloth, including vintage tweed, retro paisley or something a bit more plain and understated, as well as a removable leather strap and plenty of room for your daytime essentials. But best of all, there’s no poop to scoop.

If you want one, you can pick one up from Fuzzy Nation, priced at £39.

Marimekko Kaivo tonic bag

Marimekko_kaivo
We touched on the Marimekko Kaivo design some time ago. But now it has been revisited by Marimekko for a new range of items, including this Marimekko Kaivo tonic bag.

The Kaivo design was introduced in 1964 by Maija Isola, but the new colourways (including this mustard yellow) have been created by Maija’s daughter, Kristina Isola and used on a range of new bags.

This tonic bag is made of 100 per cent light cotton and is ideal as an everyday bag for throwing your essentials in. It retails for £38.

Bullit and Dirty Harry tote bags

Tokyo_bags

Bye Bye Tokyo has some interesting t-shirt designs, as well as some smart tote bags, including these Bullit and Dirty Harry tote bags.

Yes, I said ‘Bullit’ – the design might be good, but the spelling of the movie title seems to be lacking a second ‘t’. Still, no-one but the biggest of film buffs will notice. The Clint bag is a white design on black, the Steve McQueen bag is black on white, with both bags sized at 40 x 38cm (excluding the handle).

And both are on sale, priced at 13.90 Euros, which is around £9.50.

Looking bold in gold, the design jumps out further with a splash of purple and green, not to mention that old school boombox look. The design is all around, with the bag featuring a contrasting zip, inside zip pocket and a strap that’s long enough to wear over your shoulder.

Celia Birtwell Bag with Elle Magazine

MagazineIf you can’t face the inevitable scramble for her autumn collaboration with Topshop but still need to get your fix of Celia Birtwell’s prints, then buy the latest issue of Elle Magazine. Elle are giving away free Celia Birtwell Shopping Bags with each magazine.

The bag comes in a choice of three designs – blue bold daisy print (the print used on last year’s Topshop bags), black with a floral wreath pattern or beige with Celia’s catwoman logo.

As is often the case with these magazine freebies, the quality isn’t brilliant, but for the £3.30 cost of the magazine, you can’t really complain.
