Billy Bag 70s-style weekend holdall

Billybag The sun is shining again – ideal weather to head off for a weekend at the coast. And you’ll look pretty stylish with this Billy Bag 70s-style weekend holdall on the back seat.

It’s a large holdall (25 x 40 x 16cm) made up of a laminated canvas featuring a pattern that wouldn’t have looked out of place on a 1970s living room wall. And if you don’t like this, there’s also a blue and purple colour scheme. Other features include both handles and a strap, plus an outside pocket for anything you need to hand.

Available online, you can pick one up for £100.

Orla Kiely retro shopping trolley

Orla_trolley

You might laugh at your gran as she heads off down to the shops with her trolley, but it suddenly makes a lot of sense when you have to struggle up a hill with two heavy shopping bags. And indeed, it’s actually far more eco-friendly than plastic bags too. Fancy one? You could try this Orla Kiely retro shopping trolley.

Yes, this is very much the classic shopping trolley, but without the tartan cloth covering. Instead, you get a classic Orla Kiely print in a choice of three colours, all made from a laminated cotton canvas. There’s also a front pocket and wheels that fold up when you want to carry it.

Unfortunately, it isn’t as cheap as your gran’s trolley – they retail for £200.

Oxio RetroStriper laptop bag

Oxio
Is the Oxio RetroStriper laptop bag really retro? I’m not sure – but the company claims it looks straight out of the 60s.

In fact, to quote Oxio: "The Oxio RetroStriper looks like an extra from a 1960s movie which is by no means a bad thing. In fact it represents that cool 60s feeling of being bright, functional and slightly kooky. And it looks great with mini skirts! "

No, I’m still not convinced, but it looks much better than the usual selection of computer bags you see instore. This one offers enough room for a laptop up to 15-inch, large outer zipped pockets, removable striped shoulder bag, numerous interior compartments, moulded grip and of course, plenty of padding to keep your computer secure.

Available in grey or orange, they retail for £64.99.

There’s a choice of eye-catching designs available (including the one shown here), all sized at 16 inches x 12 inches x 5 inches and made of thick rip-stock nylon with zip fastener detailing. There’s also an outside pocket, two inside divisions, a zipped inside pocket, mobile holder, notepad pocket and an area for pens.

It can also hold a laptop, but there’s some specific laptop bags coming soon, so it might be best to hold off it that’s what you want. They retail for $75 (around £38).

Topshop Patent 70s luggage range

Topshop_luggage

If you’re on the look out for stylish luggage, chances are you’re not going to be popping into Topshop. But that’s actually the place for this Patent 70s luggage range.

Very 70s in terms of colours used – and that shiny plastic look is probably indicative of years gone by too. There’s two items currently available, the Patent 70s trolley suitcase, complete with wheels and extendable pull handle and the Patent 70s vanity case with multiple compartments.

Not badly price either. The suitcase sells for £70, while the vanity case will set you back £40.
