Mod target car mats

Target_carmats
The high street seems to be going target-mad right now – and that includes your local Tesco, which is selling these target car mats.

Not a lot you can say about car mats, except that they keep the floor of your car clean. These are universal, so should fit most cars, although I’d wager they would be more suited to a Mini rather than a Vauxhall Corsa.

Available instore and online, you can pick the pair up for £15.

trioBike – the eco-friendly way to get your family around

Triobike

You could buy a people carrier, or alternatively, you could get yourself fit and do your bit for the environment with the trioBike.

Looking like the long-departed motorbike and sidecar, the trioBike is a retro-styled bike, a two-seat buggy and a carrier bike – in fact, its interchangeable design means you can change between all three without the use of any tools. You can fit a load of up to 80kg on the bike – the equivalent of two children up to nine-years-old and it is tested to strict Danish safety standards.

Much cheaper than that people carrier too – priced at £2,065.

Jaguar XJS Cabriolet for sale – owned by Preston of the Ordinary Boys

Jag_preston

Remember Preston from the Ordinary Boys? He was an indie/mod contender who made his name (and lost his cool) on Celebrity Big Brother and in glossy celebrity magazines. Oh yes – and he married and divorced a reality TV star too.

Well, he might not be around much now, but his old car is – and you can buy it. A very stylish one too, this Jaguar XJS Cabriolet cost Preston £12,000 when he bought it, but you can grab it for around £7,995. A great example too – just two previous owners of this automatic, 29,000 miles from new (1986), a 5.3-litre engine,  air con, loads of electrics, leather interior and that convertible top for when the sun shines.

Notoriously unreliable, but oozing cool, this could be a classic for the future.

Yamaha’s retro Sakura motorbike

Yamaha_retro

I’m not usually excited about motorbikes, but if more looked like the Yamaha Sakura, that view might just change.

The Sakura is a prototype, unveiled by the company at the Tokyo Motor Show but based on the Yamaha XS-1, the company’s first 4-stroke model. Saying that, this is a very modern bike – a lightweight 1,000cc air-cooled, V-twin model that really oozes style.

No word on this going into production as yet, but if you know of any similar retro-styled motorbikes, please let us know.

Volkswagen Camper Van set to return as VW Bulli

Vw_bulli

The classic Volkswagen Camper Van is set to return – but not quite the same as you remember it.

The new vehicle will be called the Bulli and is intended as a cleaner and safer modern-day take on the Camper Van, with retro looks and a more simplistic interior to keep costs down. Bizarrely, the person pushing the project along is The Who’s Pete Townshend, a big fan of the original – and indeed still housing an original in his garage. Seems he’s been bending the ear of VW execs – and they’re listening.

The picture above is an artist’s impression of the new vehicle. Whether we see it will depend on the money men – unless they can sell at least 100,000 examples of the Bulli worldwide every year, the vehicle will stay on the drawing board.
