eBay watch: 1980s Lotus Esprit 2.2

Lotus

Ok, it's not the James Bond variation – no option to go underwater and no firing of missiles here. But you can pick up this Lotus Esprit 2.2 for much less than the movie car thankfully.

This is a later 1988 model, but still with much of the look, perhaps with a few more rounded edges, but still unmistakably the Lotus Esprit. According to the seller, this two-seater has a 2,174cc engine, 65,000 miles on the clock, all the documents and MOT certificates, removable glass sunroof, alloy wheels, electric windows and mires plus modern additions like a 12-CD multichanger.

It's been in storage for two years, so you'll have to take that not account. But on the plus side, you get the personalised plate. £4,000 is the current asking price if you want to turn some heads.

eBay watch: 1972 Mercedes Benz 250ce car

Merc

Oozing 1970s cool comes this 1972 Mercedes Benz 250ce. Perfect if you are looking to pull off an old school gangster look.

According to the seller, this 'pillar less coupe' has a 'genuine' 89,000 miles on the clock of the 2,496cc engine and comes with the original manuals and lots of invoices. It's automatic, with two doors, a light brown leather interior and from what we can see, pretty much everything original (or replaced as original), with the possible exception of the stereo.

The seller is looking for offers of £5,600 for a car he claims is 'surprisingly cheap' on insurance and free of road tax. You might want to check the former before you bid though. Lots of images on the listing page if you want to see more.

Fiat 500 by Gucci priced and dated for UK

Fiat_gucci

Fiat loves a special edition Fiat 500. Not content with launching the Ferrari version, a Diesel model and a convertible, the Italian car giant is now offering the Fiat 500 by Gucci in the UK.

First mentioned back in February, the car has been customised by Gucci to celebrate 150 years of Italian unification and the 90th anniversary of Gucci. Two variations will be available, a 1.2-litre model for £14,565 and the 0.9-litre TwinAir model, which will set you back £15,765. Both will be available online, first come first served, later this month.

Expect numerous special features, including the distinctive colour scheme, a mix of two-tone black with white interior or white exterior with satin chrome and black interior and the option to buy matching clothing by Gucci to go with your new runaround. None of which is likely to come cheap.

eBay watch: 1968 Citroen DS ID19 car

Citroen1

As far back as 2007 we were showing our love for the Citroen DS in this site. These stunning motors get rarer by the year, but they do occasionally crop up on eBay – as is the case with this 1968 Citroen DS ID19 car.

The ID series was a more simplified version of the DS, lacking the power steering and some of the hydraulic controls of the original, but still sharing that stunning and iconic exterior.

Pocket Classics – working half-scale versions of classic cars

Pocket

Ever dreamt of owning a Porsche Speedster, a Mercedes 300SL, a Jaguar E-Type or a vintage Jeep? Well, that dream might be a little nearer with Pocket Classics.

From the name, you might expect these to be toy cars for your desk. Oh no – these are working replicas of classic cars, but at half scale. Take your pick from the four models mentioned above (none of them branded for legal reasons), each one faithfully recreated with a composite GRP body shell, steel chassis, twin rear hydraulic disk brakes, and semi automatic gearbox. There's also  working headlights, indicators and horn, with a top speed of 46mph.

All cars are built to order, but it's worth noting that they are toys. So not road legal. Which means the £9,995 price of each one will undoubtedly make it the most expensive toy you ever buy. See the website for images of the other models on offer.

Original 1960’s Scooter from nanadobbie

Show_image_in_imgtag.php

Small children whizzing across the pavement are a pretty ubiquitous sight just about anywhere in the UK these days, thanks to the current scooter revival.

This old-school original 1960's chrome scooter has oodles of charm compared to it's modern-day plastic counterparts. It's painted light brown with metallic detailing and even has a name – the "Radio Flyer". It's suitable for an older child or a teenager – sadly not a fully grown adult.

The scooter costs £65 from mid-century treasure trove nanadobbie – either from their London store or online here.
