eBay watch: Nissan Pao retro-styled car

Pao1

Despite talking about it as far back as 2006, we haven't really featured the Nissan Pao much on the site. Until now that is, as one has just come up on eBay.

The Pao is generally referred to as a 'retro wagon', a fairly roomy vehicle that was launched in Japan around the same time as the equally retro Nissan Figaro. However, unlike the Figaro, not many of these have been imported to the UK, so they are far less common.

eBay watch: 1966 Triumph Herald 1200 Convertible

Herald

It's always a risk buying a classic car, especially if you're not too great under the bonnet. But this Triumph Herald 1200 Convertible looks a cool and practical buy if you are a novice.

Dating back to 1966 and still cutting a hip profile, this Herald has just over 80,000 on the clock of that 1,147c engine. It's also described as being in 'excellent condition', as well as 'trouble free' and in 'great working order'. That's perhaps down to the amount of money spent on it – overt £2,000 in the last year alone. See the website for a breakdown of just what has been replaced and upgraded.

Another shot over the page, with many more on the listing. The price right now is £2,200 with no reserve.

eBay watch: 1968 Porsche 912 Classic – at just 99 pence

Porsche

Ok, it's unlikely to stay at that price for long, but it's nice to see a low starting price for a very cool car on eBay – this 1968 Porsche 912 Classic.

An incredibly stylish coupe, it's not perfect and has been stood in dry storage for a few years. But if you are willing to invest a bit of time, effort and money in this, it will really pay off. According to the seller, it will need some recommissioning, although it runs when parked and has no bodywork issues.

Lots of images on the site if you need a closer look and as we said, just 99 pence right now.

Cyclepedia: A Tour of Iconic Bicycle Designs book by Michael Embacher

Cyclepedia

We love a vintage bicycle, which is why we'll be investing in a copy of Cyclepedia: A Tour of Iconic Bicycle Designs book by Michael Embacher.

It's packed with such things, specifically charting 100 models designed over the past 90 years, models apparently chosen for their 'innovative mechanisms, engineering precision, and commendable design'. Mountain, racing, single-speed, touring, kids', tandem, urban, folding, cargo, and curiosities, they're all here.

Wallpaper has an online gallery of some of those models if you want a glimpse inside. If you like what you see, the book has just been published by Thames & Hudson and available on Amazon now for a discounted £11.73.
