Habitat’s Polish Blow-Up canvas

Blowup_polish
A short while back, we featured Habitat’s League of Gentlemen canvas, part of a new range of canvas art available instore and online. But dig deeper and you’ll find a rare gem for the sale – the Polish Blow-Up film canvas.

So why is this so special? Well, the film poster for Blow-Up is one of the most famous in the world. Except possibly in Poland, where a new image for the film was created by artist Waldemar Swierzy. And in my view, it’s every bit as appealing as the more widely-known Hemmings and model image and indeed more true to the film title – this is a "blow-up" of a photograph.

Swierzy’s original poster does command a hefty price tag these days. The Habitat canvas, sized at 70cm x 100cm and ready to hang sells at £95.

Star Wars R2-D2 pedal bin

R2d2_pedalbin
You don’t see many novelty bins, but even if there a number to choose from, surely none could beat this Star Wars R2-D2 pedal bin.

It’s made by Japanese company Heart, but is being imported to various countries at the moment – including the UK. It stands 24 inches tall, has a foot lever that flips open R2’s head for your waste and a removable interior for ease of emptying.

Or you could ignore all that and just use it as an eye-catching piece of home decor. You can order one now, it’s priced at around £99.

Original 1960s Batmobile up for sale

Batmobile

Yes, you have read it right – you could be the proud owner of the original Batmobile.

Ok, it wasn’t the only one, there were four made in total by custom car man George Barris for the 60s TV series, but it’s still quite a catch. It goes up for auction at the end of February at Coys auction house. But before you slip on the cape and mask, make sure you have plenty of cash in your pocket – it’s estimated to sell for around £75,000.

Bagpuss ceramic flower pots

Bagpuss_flowerpot
When that saggy old cloth cat known as Bagpuss first hit our screens in 1974, it probably wasn’t expected to last more than a year. Yet, 33 years on, the shops are full of Bagpuss merchandise, ranging from toys and games to clothing and homeware – but our favourite item has to be this Bagpuss flower pot.

Looking more shocked than sleepy, it’s a great likeness, with the cat’s pink and white colouring hand painted onto the ceramic point, which is 9cm in height and with a depth also of 9cm.

Available now, you can pick one up for just £2.99.
