Lego Drinks Bottle

  @ 2 1-4

There is no shortage of products out there for the Lego aficionado, the latest of which is this Drinks Bottle.

We've had storage bricks, storage heads, torches and lunch boxes and whilst some may be suffering from Lego fatigue, the classic style and block colours have some mileage yet.

This latest addition to the range is these colourful plastic bottles with Lego figure heads as the bottle top, which will certainly brighten up a packed lunch or picnic. In addition they are phtalate and bisphenol free  making them a safer option to store your beverage in.

You can pre-order the bottles from Firebox here.

Purnukka jar – 1950s storage

Purnukka
Here's a subtle piece of retro style, the Purnukka jar.

Manufactured by Iittala, though they look pretty timeless, these ceramic jars were actually designed by Kaj Franck back in 1953 and remained in production until 1975. They're now back in a tantalising range of colours and with just a slight tweak to the original design: they've been changed so they are better at stacking. Available in either 60mm or 120mm sizing, they're guaranteed to keep looking good for many more decades to come.

The jars are priced at £16 for smaller size and £19 for the larger jar.

V&A Feldman 1950s textile design oven glove

Feldman
More 1950s designs taken from the V&A's extensive archive and applied to new products, in this case an oven glove based on a 1950s Feldman textile.

The pattern was designed by J. Feldman and then produced by David Whitehead Ltd in 1954, originally as a roller printed rayon. The design screams the early '50s with its atomic influenced pattern, an example of the type of textile pattern that came out of the Festival of Britain and are proving to be so popular again in 2011.

The V&A have used it on a number of cotton kitchen accessories, also including an oven mit and a tea towel. This oven glove costs £10.
