Glass Cake Stand

Normal_TCH_SS10_003

Either use this glass cake stand to wow your friends with your baking abilities or as a pretty edition to a dressing table.

It's inspired by the south of France of the 1950s, and the clear glass model has a lovely pressed design, perfect for any special celebrations or just to make not-so special occasions a little more exciting. If you're going all out, buy one in each size and you will have a double tiered cake.

The small version is 23cm and £15 and the larger stand is 30cm and only costs £20 from The Contemporay Home online.

Retro ice cream spoons from Baci Milano

Ice cream
Though Summer may still be that little bit too far away, it's never a wrong time to indulge in some ice cream. Fifties-style ice cream accessories are a pretty common sight on the high street, so how about the slightly later looks of these retro ice cream spoons from Baci Milano

Each spoon is topped off with a Pop-style outline of a mouth, presumably open and ready to receive ice cream. The spoons may look as if they are made in plastic but they are in fact made from porcelain, adding a touch of seriousness to what could otherwise be a throwaway item.

Still not too expensive though, as a set of four spoons costs £9.

Guzzini Space Age style Biscotto container

Guzzini

We've featured many of Guzzini's products before and their products which all have a definite space age feel. This biscotto container is no exception.

Made from moulded plastic in that classic 1970s shade of orange, it measures just over 20cm diameter and looks like it could hold a lot more than biscotti. Put it out next to Guzzini's classic Stella ice bucket and you can easily add a 1960s/70s look to any home.

The container costs £15.96.
