Hair of the Dog tiki mug by Mitch O’Connell for Munktiki

Hair of the dog
Retro favourite Mitch O'Connell is a multi-talented guy – artist & designer, tattooist and now designer of ceramics.

Purveyors of fine tiki paraphernalia Munktiki have released a limited run of this Hair of the Dog tiki mug. Each poor hungover dog has an ice pack hat which you can put your straw through and will keep your revival remedy for the morning after the night before nicely chilled. Standing at an impressive 9 inches tall, it makes for a suitably kitsch adornment in any 50s den.

The Hair of the Dog tiki mug is a limited edition of 100 and is $60 from the Munktiki webstore.

Le Creuset Gourmand Fondue Set

41N9NFJ5MWL__SL500_
Le Creuset is the Rolls Royce of cookware and its fondue set is equally high-end.

Le Creuset Gourmand Fondue Set is made from cast iron, which means it retains heat for longer and is more durable than ceramic fondue pots. The pot has been given an orange finish, in a shade they call “Volcanic”, which makes it recognisable as a Le Creuset product as well as being in keeping the fondue set’s 1970s heritage.

It is available to buy for £79.35 from I Love Fondue.

Riess Enamel Pans

Pans_medium

Both beautiful and useful these Riess Enamel Pans will add a pop of retro colour and style to any kitchen.

The pans come in a choice of three delicious ice-cream colours which contrast with a cream lip and interior. They are manufactured from enamel on steel and have long handles with a hole for hanging – these beauties should be out on display, not stuffed in a cupboard!

The Riess Factory in Austria has been producing enamelware for over two hundred years and is a fantastic model for sustainable industry. It's powered by it's own hydro-electric plants and also recycles as much waste as possible, from steel offcuts to enamel paints.

The pans cost from £18-£20 each and are available from Objects of Use

Egloo Telephone Box salt and pepper set by David Roberts

Egloo

This Egloo Telephone Box salt and pepper set by David Roberts mixes the very traditional with the contemporary.

The 'Egloo' is Roberts's word to describe the shape of his shakers: a mixture of egg and igloo. Their unusual shape contrasts to the image depicted on each one, which offers a small piece of nostalgia for your kichen table. For example, in the set pictured, the egloos feature a classic red phone box while another design shows a traditional London guard.

The Egloos cost £18.

ISAK Harvest Wallpaper

Harvest wallpaper
This Harvest Wallpaper is another great design courtesy of ISAK.

With its depiction of fish, onions, peas and herbs, this design references Marianne Westman's classic 1956 Picknick design (which was reissued last year). The same basic ingredients have been given an update with ISAK's distinctive Scandinavian 70s style and have been made available for your wall, not just your dining table. Like all of ISAK's wallpapers, you send them the width and height of the area you want covering and they custom make the rolls for your wall.

The paper costs £38 per square metre.

Fairground mugs from Snowden Flood

Stop mug
Snowden Flood has been featured quite a few times on this site before: for her work featuring famous London landmarks and her take on design classics. A slightly different type of style is evident in her new range but still one that's pleasingly retro – as demonstrated with these fairground mugs.

The mugs feature illustrations influenced by traditional British folk art – indeed as the name suggests they are influenced by old-fashioned funfair signage. Each mug is decorated in a different colour with a different fairground ride style slogan.

The bone china mugs also draw on another British tradition in their manufacture as they are made in Stoke-On-Trent.

You can buy the mugs individually for £18.50 or as a set of four for £70.
