Portmeirion Magic Garden limited edition coffee pot

Magic garden coffee

Another company highlighting their heritage: in 2010 Portmeirion celebrates 50 years. They've been looking through their archives and produced a collection inspired by Susan Williams-Ellis' archive designs. This coffee pot is based on a similarly shaped pot they found that was covered in William-Ellis' hand-drawings. These drawings were the basis of the Magic Garden design, which began to be manufactured in 1970. The design looks as current now as it must have done back then.

While mugs with this design are readily available, this coffee pot is limited to an edition of 500. Each pot costs £65.

Sagaform tea cup and saucer

The title of this product makes no secret that it's looking back a few decades: Sagaform have named this the retro tea cup and saucer, part of several pieces in a new 'retro' range. Lotta Odelius has looked to the 1950s to produce this attractive pattern, featuring naturally-inspired blue and green shapes on a white base.

This tea cup and saucer costs £14.50 while a storage jar featuring the same pattern is available for £12.50.

Mod vodka tumblers from Artel

Mod vodka tumblers

Looking to knock back some shots in style? These mod vodka tumblers from Artel could be your answer. As the name might suggest, they are decorated in a stylish black, geometric pattern.

Artel specialize in glassware with graphic and geometric designs.Named after a group of Czech early twentieth artisans, the company tries to reflect their values in their work. For example, though these glasses have a sleek and modern look, they've been made using traditional glass-blowing techniques.

Costing £193 for a set of three, they're probably glasses to be brought out on special occasions only.

Teapots and Jugs tea towel by Skinny laMinx

Teapot teatowel

We've featured Skinny laMinx before: her borrowed spoons textile had a distinctive 50s feel about it. Her new Teapots and Jugs tea towel has a similar look, partly because it is based on illustrations of all the vintage teapots and jugs she owns! Prepare to be envious of her attractive looking collection (you can see the original objects on her blog). The patterns and shapes of the ceramics are displayed in outline against panels of block colour.

The design is screenprinted onto hopsack and is available in grey or dutch orange for $12.50.

Apple uncropped

Here are more goodies from Next who have come up trumps in their latest kitchen collection. Following on from the apple memo board featured earlier in the week, here's a similarly fruity storage set. The five piece set has containers for keeping all your kitchen essentials, from bread to biscuits. Each has a white finish with a repeated apple motif and a red lid to match the plain lettering. The simple design means the set could fit easily into a retro-inspired kitchen.

The set costs £32.
