Chelsea Textiles Credenza

Mid097-14v3_1_1
Chelsea Textiles began over twenty years ago with faithful reproductions of 17th and 18th century fabrics, but happily for us, they have expanded their offerings to include midcentury modern inspired furniture such as this Credenza.

It is described handmade, handpainted and made entirely from wood. It measures 73cm high by 96cm wide and is 48 cm deep. Unfortunately, the website doesn’t give a price, which is never a sign of a bargain, but something this beautiful could be worth saving for.

Visit the Chelsea Textile website for contact and ordering details.

Warren Evans Cuba Bed

3
There are surprisingly few retro bed designs out there (perhaps because beds haven’t changed much over the years), but Warren Evans has the Cuba Bed which has a hint of retro style to it.

It is described as being inspired by 1950s and consists of a floating frame and a compact headrest in a choice of fabrics (the hot spice shown here adds to the fifties look). Prices vary according to size and your choice of mattress, but a double bed frame costs £395.

Visit Warren Evans for more information.

Vintage Book Clocks

Il_570xN_252715202

The Etsy seller by the name of SteampunksNotDead specialises in Vintage Book Clocks.

Each clock is a one of a kind piece and is made from a book usually dating from between 1890 and 1960. Most of the book clocks currently available use obscure titles (The Scarlett Letter was the only one I recognised), but I think they are all the better for it. Various styles of clock hands are available so you can request a certain style. Equally, if you have a book that you would like transformed into a clock, then they are happy to quote for doing that. Prices range from around £16 to just under £100 depending on the size and rarity of the book.

Visit the SteampunksNotDead shop on Etsy for more information.

Porada Oscar Trolley

Porada_oscar_425a
A trolley was very much a “must-have” item for any self-respecting host back in the 1970s and I don’t see any reason why today’s homes should be without.

The Porada Oscar Trolley is a great option as it has some retro features, but still looks sleek and stylish. The shelves all have rounded edges with the top shelf being cut away to allow bottles to stand on the middle shelf. It is available in a number of different finishes, but the walnut and chrome combination pictured here is arguably the most stylish.

Buy it from Mac and Mac Interiors, priced £841.

Mr Wingate Chair Stripe Designs

Zoom_ChairStripe
We loved Mr Wingate’s East End Pub Crawl and Brutalist architecture designs, so were please to see another of his designs that pushes our buttons.

Pictured here is the Chair Stripe Cushion, but the design is also currently available on an apron. The design consists of rows of illustrations of classic chair designs, printed in black on a cream cotton background. The cushion costs £40 (including the cushion pad) and the apron costs £21.

Buy them from Mr Wingate’s shop on Not on the High Street.
