Loopy Coffee Table

Loopy-L127-7503
The Loopy Coffee Table has been a best-seller for GillmoreSPACE since they started selling it in 2002. Whilst it isn’t of a vintage origin, its style is very much of the 1960s.

Its name comes from the fact that its shape is a loop (rather than it being slightly crazy). It is available in matt white lacquer or an oak finish. The table is currently on offer with the oak priced £345 and the white £332.

Buy it online at GillmoreSPACE.

Clover coasters from Pryl design

Clovercoasters

These clover coasters from Pryl design are almost too eyecatching for resting your cup of tea on.

Designed by Julia Nielsen for the Swedish company, the classic four leaf clover is transformed into a psychedelic design which looks like it has been drawn from the late 1960s, rather than 2011. The clover design comes in three eye-popping colours, all printed onto triangular laminated birchwood – perfect for cheering up a dull table or desktop.

A set of three costs £12.

Coco by Foscarini Lighting

CocoTableLight2
We’ve featured so many lights recently that you’ve no excuse for any dimly lit rooms in your home, but in case you’ve not found one you like, here is another one for your consideration.

Coco by Foscarini Lighting is a table lamp with a distinctively shaped mouth-blown glass shade. It is available in white or ruby red with a white interior. Both options have a lacquered metal base in a five-pronged flower shape.

The lamp costs £349 from A White Room.

Gubi Matégot Coat Rack

4778
The Gubi Matégot Coat Rack offers an interesting alternative to the Eames Hang It All, whilst having a similar atomic age style.

It was designed by Mathieu Mategot and like the Eames design, dates back to the 1950s. It is made from brass and black metal with red, yellow and white circles to hang your coats on.

It costs £117.50 from Nest.

Plex Cuckoo Clock

Plex_white01
The Plex Cuckoo Clock combines modern minimalism with the traditional cuckoo clock.

The clock has a lacquered finish, in a huge array of colours, although my choice would be this white version that is reminiscent of 1960s space-age design. The cuckoo clock mechanism includes a light meter to ensure that the cuckoo only comes out during day, so you won’t be woken up by it at night.

Buy it from Bouf for £165.

Rich Brilliant Willing Lights for Urban Outfitters

Richbrilliantwilling
Rich Brilliant Willing isn’t a name I was familiar with, although they are apparently a hot name in the world of modern design. The lights they have created exclusively for Urban Outfitters certainly justify the hype.

There is a table lamp or a wall sconce, which both have a bright coloured base with a wood pedestal. They are made from existing components that have been appropriated into a new use, and pleasingly for us, the end product has a midcentury aesthetic.

The lights cost $89 each from Urban Outfitters.
