Beastie Brat t-shirt at Stardust

Beastie

Recognise the image? Yes, the Beastie Brat t-shirt at Stardust is based on a hip hop classic.

That being the original Beastie Boys logo from the debut '86 album, Licensed To Ill. So, not only are you dressing your child, you're making said child far more hip than the rest of the nursery intake with his or her nod to old school hip hop cool.

It's an ethically-made t-shirt, made from a premium interlock cotton, with nickel-free poppers and sizes from 0-6 months to 10 years. The price is £14.50, with an option for 'Beastie Girl' or 'Beastie Baby' if you prefer. If that doesn't appeal, the rest of the range features everyone from Joe Strummer to the Sisters of Mercy.

London Transport Museum babywear

Transport top

As part of their Christmas collection, the London Transport Museum shop have launched a new babywear range that's suitable for any time in the year.

The range features three motifs, all taken from a 1986 poster for the 'One Day travelcard', which was designed by an unknown artist: a Routemaster bus as pictured above, a retro spacecraft or a clown. Though dating from the '80s, the designs draw on the traditional style associated with the transport posters and look a lot earlier in date. Each motif is available on either a cotton long sleeve top, a bib or a hat.

The bib and the hat are both priced at £6.99 each, while the long sleeve top costs £13.99.

Blafre Robot Lunch box

Blafre robot
After Wednesday's Lunch Man here's another retro way to get your kids to take their lunch to school (or you to take your sandwiches to work): the Blafre Robot Lunch box.

The lunch box is both retro-inspired in terms of material and imagery. It's made from metal with a plastic handle and is decorated with cheerful simplified images of robots. Like this lunch box? The Norwegian company also produces the same design on a smaller storage tin.

The lunchbox costs £10.95 or you can buy the tin for £6.
